Purpose: ACM-W is giving back to the community with the Bearcat Coders program.  Volunteers can sign up to join a Bearcat Coders team to go over to Hughes High School and mentor students.

Location: Hughes High School (across the street from UC, on Clifton Ave.) Directions from TUC.

How to get involved: 

Purpose: Throuout the year we strive to bring in Fortune 500 companies and local startups to talk to you. The events are a great way to learn more about the business, hear some real-world experiences, and network with your favorite companies!

How to get involved: Come to the the events and bring your friends! We will provide a professional development session prior to the career fair to help you revise your resume and learn how to navigate the event.

Purpose: Microsoft Corporation partnered with UC ACM-W to host DigiGirlz day. During the event, high school students interacted with Microsoft employees and managers and University of Cincinnati staff and students to gain exposure to careers in business and technology and to get an inside look at what it’s like to work in the computing industry.

Participants: Roughly 100 people: 50-60 high school students from inner-city schools | 20 college students (volunteers) | 20 faculty members | Microsoft reps | UC Staff

How to get involved: Sign up to volunteer! Note: The volunteering counts towards Cincinnatus hours.

The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC) is the World's Largest gathering of Women Technologists. It is produced by the Anita Borg Institute and presented in partnership with ACM. Each year we send a few ACM-W@UC Exec members to network, learn, and grow. We are working on bringing this opportunity to even more students and hope to send more ACM-W members soon! 

GHC 18 will be:

OCWiC is a biannual event that gives young women the opportunity to explore careers in IT, to network with other young women and to meet possible mentors. OCWiC inspires women to complete their studies in computing by expanding their awareness of career possibilities and learning from women leaders from business, industry and academia.
